Privacy Policy
Version 1.0 · Last updated: 2026-09-25
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how CLI Systems LLC ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and
protects personal data when you use Flashviz ("the Service"). We are the data controller for
this processing, located at:
CLI Systems LLC
1931 Ligget Road Unit A20
Castle Rock, CO, 80109
United States
Questions about this policy or requests concerning your data can be sent to
contact@clisystems.com. This policy forms part of,
and should be read together with, our Terms of Service.
2. What we collect
- Visualizer data. The MCU/memory layout configuration you enter is stored
only in your browser session (a server-side session tied to your browser, not a database) and
is not saved anywhere permanently. It is discarded when your session ends and is never
written to a database.
- Purchase data. If you make a purchase, information related to that
purchase — such as your unlock code, payment confirmation details from our payment
processor, and technical details like your IP address and browser user-agent recorded to
prevent abuse of unlock codes — is stored in a secure database accessible only to CLI
Systems. We do not collect or store your full payment card details ourselves; that is handled
entirely by the payment processor, under its own terms and privacy policy.
- Free unlock (email) data. If you request a free unlock code, the email
address you submit, its verification status, and the resulting unlock code — along with
technical details like your IP address and user-agent recorded to prevent abuse of the offer
— are stored in that same secure database accessible only to CLI Systems.
3. Why we collect it, and our legal basis
- Delivering and managing an unlock code (purchased or free) — this
processing is necessary to provide the Service you requested (contract / legitimate
interest).
- Preventing abuse of unlock codes and the free-unlock offer — IP
address and user-agent are logged for this purpose on the basis of our legitimate interest in
keeping the Service and offer from being abused (e.g. brute-forcing codes, spamming an
address that isn't yours).
- Contacting you about CLI Systems services. We only email you about other
CLI Systems products or services if you separately opt in to that at the point of collection
— it is never a condition of receiving your unlock code. This processing relies on your
consent, which you may withdraw at any time (see Section 8).
We never sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
Flashviz sets a single, strictly-necessary session cookie used to remember your in-progress
visualizer configuration and, if applicable, your unlock status. This cookie is required for
the Service to function and is not used for advertising, analytics, or tracking. Flashviz does
not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.
5. How long we keep it
- Visualizer data is never stored beyond your browser session (see Section
2) and has no separate retention period.
- Unlock code records. The email address or name associated with a code is
anonymized 30 days after the code is issued. The code itself keeps working after that —
redemption only checks the code, its status, and its remaining uses, never who it was issued
to.
- Abuse-prevention logs (IP address, user-agent, and the outcome of a
redemption/request attempt) are deleted 30 days after the attempt.
6. Sharing your data
We share personal data only with the service providers needed to run the Service on our
behalf — for example, a payment processor to handle purchases, or an email delivery
service to send your unlock code — and only to the extent needed for them to perform that
function. These providers are bound by their own privacy obligations. We do not sell your
personal data, and we do not share it with anyone else except where required by law.
7. International data transfers
CLI Systems is based in the United States. If you are located in the European Economic Area,
the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, using the Service means your personal data will be
transferred to and processed in the United States. Where required by applicable law, we rely on
appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate personal data;
- Erase your personal data;
- Restrict or object to our processing of your personal
data;
- Receive a copy of your personal data in a portable format;
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent (this
won't affect an unlock code you've already been issued); and
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
You can remove your email address yourself at any time on our
Remove My Data page — no need to wait on a reply. For any other
right listed above, or anything that page doesn't cover, email
contact@clisystems.com. We'll remove your personal
data from our database on request; an unlock code you've already received will keep working
even after your email address is removed. We'll respond within the timeframe required by
applicable law.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the personal data we
store, including restricting database access to CLI Systems and hardening how it's served.
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute
security.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Service after a
change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
