CLI Systems has been engaged to design and manufacture a custom silicone keypad for a control panel product. Using our in-depth understanding of product development, 3D modeling, and injection molded manufacturing, CLI Systems was able to design a custom solution to meet the exact requirements. The keypad design has a specific key throw distance to provide high tactile feedback to the operator, and is required to be manufactured with UL 94V-0 materials. Additionally, the buttons were required to be a specific Pantone color as required by the end application.
CLI Systems worked with the client on an aggressive timeline for initial production. Our existing relationships with injection molding manufacturers allowed for prototype unit production using a 3D printed injection mold, and initial prototypes within 2 weeks. CLI Systems then quickly produced more than 50 keypads for first articles testing, and implemented a production plan for producing several hundred units within 6 months to support the customer's production ramp.
